Rekopol

Rekopol Recovery Organisation S.A. has been founded by the leading Polish and international entrepreneurs. The main aim of this organisation is to secure and represent the interests of fillers and packers. This kind of activity has to be undertaken in accordance within contractors' financial responsibility which is imposed on them for their market product packaging recovery and recycling.

Entrepreneur obligations is based on three Acts dated 27 April 2001 O odpadach - The Waste Act and 11 May 2001 O opakowaniach i odpadach opakowaniowych - The Act on Packaging and Packaging Waste - and O obowiązkach przedsiębiorców w zakresie gospodarowania niektórymi odpadami oraz o opłacie produktowej i opłacie depozytowej - The Act on Producer Responsibility with regard to the Management of Certain Waste, Product Fee and Deposit Fee - of the same date. These acts have been in law since January 2002, transposed EC Directive 94/62/EC into national law.

The strategic point of Rekopol recovery organisation is reliable and effective realisation of statutory obligations set on their entrepreneurs by the Polish law and European Directive 94/62/EC. Therefore, in order to fulfil the obligations mentioned above, Rekopol concentrates on developing of selective collection system in regard of packaging waste, comprising the whole country. This organisation is based on a non-profit principle, i.e. any profits made are to be used to reduce the fees for relevant packaging material in the following years.

Rekopol is the Green Dot organisation, which means, that its point is creation of selective collection system through financing it and social education.
